Nestled in the hills of Walking Horse Country of Bedford County Tennessee Bell Buckle was founded along the The Nashville and Chattanooga railroad line in 1852. In 1853 a railroad depot was constructed in the village. Around 1870 Bell Buckle was a major stockyard for the railroad with a population that boomed over 1000. 
The Town has become known for antiques, quilts, handmade crafts, music, great food, and its Southern Hospitality.

Bell Buckle is a Governor's Three Star Community, recipient of the 2008 Governor's Stewardship Award for Parks & Recreation, and is noted as being the smallest town in Tennessee to receive the Tree City, USA Title.
