Bell Buckle VFD Public Education

Bell Buckle Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated to educating the public. We are staffed with a combination of seasoned veterans and youthful minds. Public education is designed to reduce the number of injuries and fire incidents due to carelessness or accidents. The reduction of these incidents saves taxpayers money through lower insurance rates.

During Fire Prevention Week, our Department sponsors a Children's Educational Program in the local school featuring Sparky the Fire Dog. We are also home of Explorer post 560 through the Boy Scouts of America which consist of young firefighters from 14-21 years of age.

Bell Buckle Fire Department has been working on surveying and preparing local citizens for a possible Avian Flu Epidemic. For more information, you may contact the Fire Department at 931-389-6940 or Bell Buckle Town Hall at 931-389-9513.

Did you know that a home fire impacts an American family every 85 seconds? A smoke detector provides early warning and critical extra seconds for escape to prevent your family from being injured in a home fire. This is only true if it works. Change your batteries when you change your clocks each spring and fall. This simple task only takes a moment but can save lives and reduce the devastating effects of a home fire.

The State Arson Hotline number is 1-800-762-3017. It is a phone line dedicated to receiving information about suspicious and incendiary fires. It is answered 24 hours a day and you may remain anonymous when providing information.

To obtain a burn permit-call 1-800-367-3507.

As always, we are looking for committed volunteers to help serve on the department. This could be in different areas-fire service, First Responder Program, fund raising, etc. If you would like to become part of our team, feel free to contact Ronnie Lokey, Fire Chief at either 931-389-6940 or 931-703-3587.
